Ambergris Caye (pronounced am-BUR-gris key) is Belize's largest island and its most visited destination — and the reason almost always comes down to the reef. The Belize Barrier Reef runs along the eastern edge of the caye, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the second largest reef system in the world, making this one of the premier diving and snorkeling destinations in the entire Caribbean basin.
